Announcement: Look Who’s Back on WP!

Hi everyone!

It has been a really long while since I was here. I hope everyone is doing well, despite the current pandemic.

A lot of things have happened since my last post. Mostly, life happened. I moved platforms (WP to IG to Twitter to IG), wrote more micro poems, and even lost my magic along the way. It sucks, really. But I managed to get back on the writing horse and here I am today, writing again.

With my current drive, rise in following on IG and Twitter, and a sweet message from a fellow writer (shout out to undestinedpieces!) on IG, I decided to go back to WordPress and create it as the home of my lengthier poems and as my sound board for writing. I have this need to talk about the journey and hopefully learn from both readers and writers here in WordPress.

The content I will be posting in the coming days are relatively new – around a month old. I joined a NaPoWriMo writing contest this year and a number of my poems there are long. Given its length, I do not think it is suitable for posting in both IG and Twitter, as both platforms work best for mirco poetry and not much for lengthier ones. (I actually dislike reading long poems on IG, especially if they are squeezed into one square image. The text is too small.)

The post will be scheduled daily, starting with a poem on day 1 (today) until day 5. Then, the story behind writing the five poems will be posted on day 6. I will post a snippet on both IG and Twitter with the link back here although I was told I can’t do the latter in IG so I might just mention to head to the link on my IG bio.

There is also another thing. I joined this local writing platform called Weirdo’s Diary. That platform has an online writing contest and I would like to have some of my poems from the contest there. I am still debating if I would be cross posting the poems here. Initially, I told undestinedpieces I would but maybe not so that the views will be centered there since there is a category there for Most Views.

What do you think? These are my current options:
1. Cross post
2. Do not cross post but write about the journey here
3. Do not cross post and write about the journey there

Please let me know your thoughts on the comments section below.

Do look forward to new content here. Thank you so much and please stay safe!

Sincerely, Anj

PS: I was pretty morbid and dark in the years I stayed here. Haha. I don’t think I am that morbid anymore, though.
PPS: That chapbook page doesn’t even have LINKS to the poems. I should fix that… and cringe at my old work.
PPPS: I am revising the Spark Notes category to Journey Notes so that I don’t get sued for using a trademarked brand/name.

Announcement: NaPoWriMo 2015!

It’s that time of the year again! National Poetry Writing Month, an event where you write 30 poems in 30 days, has begun on April 1st… and I haven’t started writing. I haven’t had started writing anything until today. It only dawned upon me that it’s already NaPoWriMo and I really am out of writing steam.

I haven’t written anything in a long while because I don’t have time to write much. The original plans were to either write 30 poems about Alice in Wonderland or about love and lust. But meh, I also have no energy or imagination to write on topic so… how do I go about NaPoWriMo?

I’ve decided to go with plan C: prompts. The NaPoWriMo blog offers optional prompts everyday. I think that I could write those for this year’s NaPoWriMo. It is also a challenge for me since the prompts may be out of my comfort zone. (I checked and yes, some are out of my comfort zone.)

I know I am a bit late but since today is the Day of Valor, a local holiday, I got to write three and a half poems. I will be posting them tomorrow here. Watch out for some crazy poems in the coming days. Hopefully, I’d be able to get back on track soon. 😀

Here’s to a wonderful NaPoWriMo year for all of us poets!

XOXO,
Anj

Announcement #3: I LIIIIIVE!

Hello, hello, hello! I am alive here again!

I do apologize for not posting for quite a while. It has been over three months since my last post and I have been meaning to keep this sideblog alive because I want to have a space where all of my poems can be placed.

I was battling writer’s block for quite a while. I should’ve lined up posts from my old poetry blogs but I felt that new content must be mixed. I conquered writer’s block a few weeks ago and I had been writing snippets of poems. I shall organize that and post it here! Whee!

Besides writer’s block, I have been getting sick and getting busy every so often. Sometimes, I get sick and busy at the same time. Even my main blog is suffering and I’ve been meaning to come up with ways to make things better.

So, for this blog, I will be posting more of my old poems until I organize the snippets. I’ll be lining up one every other day and will insert Spark Notes every now and then. 😀

I do hope that everyone is well since the last time I’ve heard from everyone. 😀

XOXO,
Anj

Announcement #2: The End of NaPoWriMo

NaPoWriMo has ended and I managed to catch up!!! Yay for me!

So now, I have 30 poems, 50 followers (thanks guys!), and a legit poetry blog. None of my old poetry blogs made it this far so I feel very very happy!

What’s next for me? I am planning to migrate ALL of my poems here, posted online. They’re all over the place — Tumblr, LJ, Multiply…. yep. I have a lot of migrating to do. Will I edit them? If they are embarrassing enough, yes. If not, well, I’ll retain it.

I’ll still post new ones; don’t worry.

ALSO, I will create a page here with links to all 30 poems as a chapbook. I got the idea from Button Poetry”s contest. NaPoWriMo 2014’s chapbook is called Lie. Cry. Die. so expect to see it up sometime soon. 😀

Once again, thanks so much for following my blog and liking my posts.

XOXO,
Anj

Announcement #1: Overdue Spark Notes

Ahhhh, I have been busy. I have four poems up for posting but I know that I owe you guys Spark Notes for the last ten poems I posted. ;A;

For now, this announcement page will have some TL;DR-ish explanation for the stream of haikus currently posted. The haiku roll wasn’t planned. I haven’t written a haiku since the other day. :))

The four poems will be posted throughout the weekend. The Spark Notes will be posted soon, promise!

XOXO,
Anj

First Post; Ohai #NaPoWriMo!

Hey guys!

My name is Anj. I like to write in general (fiction and a bit of non-fiction). I mostly write poems nowadays. 🙂

I basically made this blog for the purpose of joining the National Poetry Writing Month or NaPoWriMo. Last Wednesday night, I found out about the NaPoWriMo — 30 poems in 30 days — and I feel compelled to join in the fun. Writing thirty poems within a month is a challenge for me. I normally write just one to three a month in the previous year.

I can’t wait to post poems even though I am a tad bit late. I actually have four poems lined up already. I ended up writing three today; I was inspired. Yay!

I am putting them up on queue to regulate the posts and not just dump it all in. I will also post “Spark Notes” or posts wherein I discuss the poem/s. Please feel free to tell me what you think so that we can have a fruitful discussion about it. It will also help me grow and be a better poet. Teehee.

So here we gooooo!

Love,
Anj
